review 1: Felicity is constantly dreaming of the next challenge, and eager to leap into it half-prepared; Cordelia is a homebody, always worrying about Felicity when she's gone. They're both right. This delightful children's story shows how very different personalities can be perfect matches for each other. It's also one of the most implicitly lesbian-friendly children books I've read, without ever defining Felicity and Cordelia's relationship. The illustrations are simple and cheering.
review 2: Two bunny friends, Felicity and Cordelia, have different ideas about what fun is. Cordelia likes to stay home and Felicity wants to go on an adventure in a hot air balloon. Felicity heads out alone, while Cordelia worries that her friend is not warm enough or is hungry with n
... moreot enough food. Felicity does indeed have adventures in the hot air balloon, but eventually the balloon sinks to the ground and Felicity must find her way home. While this sounds all wildly exciting, the adventures are in fact very basic and the plot moves very quickly. The plot and word choice are often downright abrupt as the story moves swiftly along. The illustrations in this picture book are soft and nice, but nothing spectacular. The story is a cute one about friendship, but there are other, better offerings out there.(Reviewed for Puget Sound Council) less
