review 1: Just Finished (12) One and the Same: My Life as an Identical Twin and What I’ve Learned about Everyone’s Struggle to be Singular by Abigail Pogrebin. Identical twin and journalist, Pogrebin explores twinhood in all its joys and challenges – how some twins never completely individuate and end up living together in situations similar to that of an old married couple ; how others actually dislike their twin and feel that that relationship has ruined their lives; how twins deals with the loss of their sibling; genetic implications and more. Human behavior fascinates me and this book gives plenty to think about in terms of defining self and what truly affects behavior – nature or environment?
review 2: I was interested to read this book because, as the tit
... morele states, I am also an identical twin and I have also struggled to be singular. It was interesting to read other twins' experiences and to see how mine have been similar or not. My memories include regularly being called "the twins" to being in the same class in college with my sister and being called on to answer a question, "Either one of you." I wrote down some quotes from this book that I will be pondering and processing for a while. An interesting read for me, and for anyone who is a parent to twins, or just fascinated with twins. less
