review 1: This is the first Batman Beyond comic I've read and it has definitely taken me by surprise. I assumed that this story would follow many of the episodes from the TV series, by simply having Batman run around fighting more Joker gangs throughout Gotham. This story was so much more than Batman merely preventing them from vandalism, robbery, and their usual crimes. The plot line told the engaging story of Joker gangs from all over the world, joining together under the leadership of the Joker King, who planned to show Gotham what the original Joker truly stood for. This story showed utter and meaningless chaos as well as the near death of Batman as he fought an unbreakable foe along with the help of some old friends, and new ones. The reason I gave this book four stars how... moreever, is because the ending leaves you hanging as to what happened to Bruce Wayne after he assisted Batman with his fight with the Joker King at the hospital. I was hoping to see another conversation between Bruce and Terry before the story ended. However, it was still a good read and definitely one that has peaked my interest in future Batman Beyond comics.
review 2: This is much better than the first two books written by Adam Beechen. The first arc starts with the return of an old enemy that everybody thought was dead which leads to some of the funniest moments ever put in this comic series. The next arc picks up from the previous volume and some shocking secrets are revealed while raising the stakes like never before. A pity it ends on a cliff hanger. The one thing I gotta complain about is the artwork especially the facial expressions(ugh). less
