review 1: I received this book from Goodreads and was really excited when I opener the package. It looked like the kind of YA novel that I loved, but I can't say that it was up to the caliber that I was used to. To say it simply, Alex Tully writes the book as if it was meant for 2nd graders, while the story line is clearly one for teenagers. Through the first 100 pages or so, I was pushing myself to read. The sentences were choppy and on more than one occasion did I see incorrect use of grammar. However, I did read over half the book in one day once I was hooked on the story line and that is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 2.
review 2: The first thing that draw me to this book was the cover. I loved its simplicity and uniqueness. Book covers are so boring these days tha
... moret this one stood out as refreshing and clean. The title helped too. Then I read the blur and I thought that this one of those YA sweet love stories and since this is a new author I decided to give it try and I didn't regret it. It's a good debut novel. The story was not what I was expecting. The idea that I got from the blur didn't match the story I read at all. The story isn't much about young love and its despairs. This story is about, as the Author at some point puts it, the hand you're given in life and how you play it. But it's also about choices and how they will influence your life, and a bit about karma as well. If you endure the hardships that life puts in your path you will be rewarded and if you make bad choices you will be punished. That simple! The characters in this story are lovable and simple and there isn't much character development, which I thought it was a shame. I wanted more. It isn't, as story goes, a flawless book. Far from it, but it has soul and it's written in such a compelling way that it's hard not to like it and to put it down. Trevor's life is hard and sad, and at some point you necessarily feel his pain and you will ask why doesn't this kid get a break? And that's the thing I liked most about Alex Tully writing; the way she pulls you into the story and makes you feel and suffer along with the characters. So, well done, Mrs. Tully, well done! less

I totally didn't enjoy the ending. Aside from that it was a decent read.
