review 1: This was a really great snapshot of the beginning of the kind of relationship you always hope you'll find with someone. Stan and Max, two lonely, single bachelors meet the night of their friends' wedding, which is the day before Christmas Eve. Max is a wealthy CEO with a history of trust issues due to a string of ex-gold digging boyfriends. Stan is a bisexual whose own trust issues resulted from a cheating ex girlfriend. They meet, they flirt, they have breakfast together and decide to have a proper date on Christmas Eve. A very sweet, sexy date. By the end of the story, I was pretty convinced they would be living together very happily ever after. I've never read anything by this author before, but I will be reading more. The prose was polished and economical in all the ri... moreght ways, and for a short story, the characters were extremely well-developed.
review 2: This is a sweet story of Max, who has been hurt by his boyfriends in the past, and Stan, who has been eyeing Max since the wedding started and trails him to the diner. They are cute together and I loved that they didn’t immediately hop into bed within seconds. I would have liked to know more about Max’s history, but the length of the story precludes that. It’s light and fluffy and holiday . less
