review 1: Amrutha Patil with her vivid sketches makes the story not just come alive but jump out at you. It was the story however, which left me a bit conflicted. The angst of people moving from small towns to big cities strikes a cord. The choking of the city is shown beautifully by drawing parallel with the choking of the sewer systems. It was just that the character of Ruth made very little sense for me. It was a constant niggle in the storyline. I wish the writer had written the sequel but am not sure when that will come out.

... morer even a minute would take you on a guilt-trip and you'd be dying to wrap up whatever that you are doing and indulge into this amazing piece again. It's amusing to witness the depiction of Kari's thought process which is so complex, yet so simple. It creates this fascinating charm around Kari which is simply irresistible. Her yearning for her partner is a beautiful outburst of emotions. Her relationship with a dying woman and willingness to be near death is extremely intriguing which Angel puts it as Kari's regular fix of decay. All in all, the novel is one of the most absorbing bundle of papers I have read. Recommended highly. less

For some unknown reasons, I found this book deeply moving. The arts have something to do with it.
