review 1: This book reads like a soap opera, which I would never have any interest in. Pointless. The book is depressing and Ann never sees any illumination on why her life is a mess. How many times does she describe her children plopped in front of the TV? And that pretty much sums up her parenting. It's unfortunate that her husbands had their addictions, but how does that excuse the non-parenting that goes on? It reads like thoughts of a severely undeveloped teenager, and yet this is an adult. Exhausting read. Don't bother.

... moreyond me. I was left wondering what it was that enabled Ann to cope. Her religion, her wonderful friends, her own inner strength? I'm guessing it is a mix of all of this and more. I consider myself a strong woman but have to say this book left me doubting that fact.....at the end of the day though, I guess it's true to say that it's the differences in each of us that makes this broken world function. Thank you for letting me be part of your crazy life Ann. less
