review 1: This is an interesting memoir of a missionary family's experience in Yemen. The author vividly describes their day to day life there, making it easy to picture the scenes in my mind. I greatly admire their courage to follow God's call to a country and people very much in need of Christ's love and message. I loved reading about how God spoke to Audra, especially His message "In remembrance of Me, heal the sick" (Ch. 14) and how the meaning of that was revealed to her. I agree with others in that the cover of the book led me to believe that there may be a climax in Yemen that never quite came, yet that expectation kept me turning the pages. Truthfully, some of the chapters felt a little long and uneventful to me. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the end of the book and am glad I rea... mored it!
review 2: I loved this book - so inspiring and hard to put down once you start it. The author's story of her families' journey and mission work, her perseverance and faith were so moving. I wanted to learn more about Yemen and the culture of their country. This small look into this missionary family and their work in this country helped me look at my faith and strengthened it. Thank you Audra Grace Shelby. less
