review 1: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved the story between Beth and James. Even though they both came from different backgrounds, it shows that this should not matter. Go with what you both want and feel, not what other people say or do. Faith, love, forgiveness of themselves and others were seen in this story. I felt like this story was written about me and my husband. We were high school sweethearts and have been married 38 years now, and we were told it wouldn't last! I can't wait to read the next book by Autumn.
review 2: Background:I received a free copy of The Wedding List in return for an honest review. What drew me to the story, though, was the cheerful cover and the blurb that hinted at a fun tale set in London. I... more have to say, I love London and it was the perfect setting for The Wedding List. Macarthur does a great job incorporating the London scene without distracting from the story.First Impressions:I tumbled into the story with the opening lines that hinted at the humor I so quickly became engaged with. The author does an imaginative job combining the posh department store setting with quirky halloween themed costumes for the cashiers. The plot is a familiar one: Beth and James are from different social classes. However, this novella kept me reading as Beth worked on her very real fears and feelings of inadequacy. Final Thoughts:Macarthur did a good job balancing the humor with introspective thoughts and growth of the characters. However, the end wrapped up a little quicker than I would have liked, and perhaps a little too easily. I wanted more, but this is the first book in a series, so I will be patient and look forward to the next installment. less
