review 1: An interesting insight into one of eighties pop front women who always appeared outwardly to be "squeaky" clean and had it altogether. I still remember listening to tunes such as "Heaven is a Place on Earth" and "Summer Rain" and thinking she was "hot" and would nver have fathomed the coke/self esteem issues she details in this book.Whilst a decent read, as many other reviews suggest, it did become somewhat repetitive with one coke binge after another. She is still alive to tell the tale however and after seeing her live in concert only a couple of years ago does appear to have cleaned up her act for the better.
review 2: I was a huge Go-go's fan at the height of their popularity and was curious what their prettiest (IMO) band member had done with her life. It s
... moreeemed like an honest, soul-baring story that had me going through the ups and downs with her. By the end I was cheering her on & became emotionally invested. The fact that she held her family together through addiction garnered a lot of respect from me. The only reason I gave just 3 stars is because there were times I felt a little bored and I wasn't always fully engaged. less
