review 1: Heartwarming and sad story about the cycle of abuse within families and what it does to innocent children. Cathy, the foster Mum, has excellent strategies to help these children grow and learn to work through the challenges that they were dealt with. Although the story is disturbing, you gain an understanding of the victims of abuse and how it perpetuates, the challenges with the foster care system and how a carer has to be a strong individual both mentally and physically to care for some of these children. Bless the people like Cathy who devote their time and energy to helping these children!
review 2: Reading a Cathy Glass book reminds me a little of watching the Waltons on TV when I was a kid. She never makes any mistakes, never seems to lose her temper o... morer behave less than professionally even in her own home. However, I love reading the stories of the children she perseveres with and the positive outcomes she is able to achieve for them. As a school teacher of young children in deprived areas, I recognise the damaged children and know something of the families they come from. It is enormously frustrating to watch a child suffer and not be able to do anything about it, to become attached to a vulnerable child and wonder what kind of life it will have. Mummy Told Me Not to Tell gave me hope that my efforts may have helped in some small way. less
