review 1: Now this book was the bomb. I see this man all the time on Fox News, and I am NOT a fan of Fox News, but I am a fan of Charles.I get to hear his life story and some of the cruel things life has thrown at him. Did you know he is wheelchair bound? He is a doctor? He is a Journalist? And to my knowledge is one the smartest men we have living in our times. He wrote for several newspapers and magazines before ending up on Fox News. The book comprises thirty years of writing, and he organized quite nicely. This book may end up being timeless, because the touches everything he writes with a hint of what lies ahead.I loved this book so much, that if I had a nice home with a library, I would have a copy of this on my shelf! I liked it so much, I plan on buying two copies of i... moret and giving them as Christmas Gifts to two friends who I know would enjoy it.And lastly, if Charles Krauthammer were running for President, I would vote for him, no questions asked!
review 2: Great book. Essays from many years of Krauthammer's columns. His writing is erudite and logical and the topics were timely when written and interesting to read years later. Reading them is like a review of political and foreign events from the 80s until now. My only complaint is that it is hard to read this book straight through, which is what I did. Probably better to dole it out a little at a time to be able to reflect on each essay. This man is very brilliant and knowing what he went through and how he persevered is impressive. less

Krauthammer's writing and insights are, as usual, excellent. However, for me, a collection of past columns, no matter how good, does not trigger as favorable response as a new book with new, timely analysis on one or more of today's problems or philosophical questions. He's great. I like to read him. I just feel a publisher went to him and proposed the possibility of a best-seller that could be produced with very little effort. Almost too good to pass up. So he did it.

Two words: Krauthammer Brillant But why stop at two words: Erudite, witty, warm, engaging... A collection of Krauthammer's favorite columns with the last chapter written in 2009 making him out to be Nostradamus so very relevant for today's political landscape. It is truly a workout to read Krauthammer but good writing should be--like playing tennis with a more talented partner...reading Krauthammer makes you a better player. Highly recommend.
