review 1: An insightful book about a mother's journey with her daughter through heroin addiction. It includes the good, the bad, the really bad, the awful, and the amazing recovery of her daughter through this madness that is called addiction. The mother does not take complete credit for her daughter's recovery but basically tells her story as a mom watching her daughter trials to beat a very challenging addiction. In the end a heartwarming story of a mother's enduring love.
review 2: Pretty good story about addiction, but there were a lot of gaps. Like, fast forwarding 10 years at the end after Amber decides to get sober . . . Nothing about how or where, did she go to meetings, get a sponsor, etc.? None of it is included in the story. Her mother, while supportive
... more once she took her head out of the sand regarding her daughter's addiction, would suggest they drink wine together and polished off two bottles at one point. Huh?? The family clearly needed some education on the subject. less
