review 1: It's actually a 2.5The bool is not badly written, however things happen because they need to, not because there is a reason. Two perfect strangers fall in love at first sight, and throuw out of the window all the life they had build until then. Honestly my suspension of disbelief does not reach that point, I would have liked some kind of character development, not blind faithHalas, a sour note to end my 2014 readings
review 2: Strangely enjoyable!I picked this one up in a charity shop - my usual habit of picking out anything on my "to read" list, and then a couple of random books - sometimes I pick green ones or the 3rd from the left .... I didn't realise until I opened it that it was a Mills & boon - they are the one type of book that I really don't enjoy ...
... morebut as I hadn't another book to hand at the time I figured it wouldn't hurt to at least read the first chapter before putting it in the "to giveaway" box!I haven't read the first book, but the story stood alone. Overall not what I was expecting, yes it has the feelgood factor that comes with all Mills & Boon novels but without the "cheesiness" that you often get. I certainly won't dismiss the rest of the series. less

Interesting premise: I'm not as fond of connected books like this than Ms. Merrill's stand-alones.

Beware of being sucked into a series written by different authors, especially if you are OCD.
