review 1: The author's perspective is questionable, as he openly states he did drugs with models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, and that his sister Madonna disapproved of such behavior, especially in front of her children, yet he continued to engage in that celebrity party culture, probably just because he could access it through his sister's notoriety. If anything, my takeaway from this book is that Madonna has worked incredibly hard to get to where she is, and continues to take her career seriously, religiously exercising and eating healthy while on tour. She may not be the most talented, but she does seem like the most driven to succeed, which is more than what I can say for her brother.
review 2: This book was written by Madonna's brother Christopher. It is a really q... moreuick read, but the entire time I felt it was more of an autobiography of Christopher or one long therapy session he had regarding his sister. Basically the best way to put it is it's a BIG FU to his sister, but he also yearns for her to be back in his life. Although Madonna is very toxic to her brother's life, he is addicted to her like a drug. He desperately wants to be respected by his sister, but sadly he will never get that acceptance because Madonna is controlling and has an ego that can populate a country. I heard about this book when Christopher was interviewed on Chelsea Lately, and was estactic that I found it at Half Price Books. As a Madonna fan, it is interesting to hear her brother's prospective, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who doesn't care for Madonna. less
