review 1: I really enjoyed this book. I wasn't expecting to love it because I thought the Celtic fae thing was going to be too heavy-handed for me to see the romance underneath (and it is true that the romance element is not to the forefront of the action) but the secondary characters and the action element carried the book for me. A good read for the story and the battle scenes, less so for the Morgan/Rhys romance.
review 2: 3.5, 4 starsCompletely different than what I was expecting, but I did enjoy it. It started perfectly, I'm used to a little more angst with my characters. This was all nobility and honor, which I can get down with. I liked Morgan, she started strong for me, but she kinda pissed me off too, I mean, I see where's she's coming from, but I still wanted t... moreo smack her, yes?I enjoyed the side characters, Jay, Leo, Ranyon (sp?) I like the old world kind of faery tales. Is it me or is it hard to read sotries with words from other languages that have several consonants together with no vowels between them?!Everything wrapped up neatly at the end. I would have liked a little more...I don't know...depth or something between Morgan and Rhys. There was some steam, not as much as I'm used to, but its there. Its a pretty quick read with vivid scenes and likable characters. Will be reading more from this author. less
