review 1: В началото разказът ми напомняше на "Стъкленият замък", но после се превърна в нещо като "Стъкленият похлупак" на Силвия Плат. Честна и преболедувана, изстрадана история на една дъщеря с трудната ѝ майка. Преплетени са чувства на любов, страх, вина и желание за победа над живота.
review 2: A prominent French writer’s memoir camouflaged as a novel, sets out to “write my mother,” tracing the life of her mother from her early childhood just after World War II to her suicide in 2008 at the age of 61. I admired the author’s journalis... moret style of writing but I felt that I read the story way too many times before. The reviews of this dark tale were very good. I chose this book as I thought I wasn’t in for another sad daughter’s story but that is just what I found. I am wondering if something was lost in the translation from French to English. less
