review 1: It's no secret that I love Demi Lovato but this just made me love her even more. While this is supposed to be a daily, page-a-day kind of book I read it all at once. Demi combines quotes from celebrities, movies, songs with quotes of her own and then commentary on how that quote relates to her life and the reader's life. What I loved about this was that at the end of each day's entry, there was a daily goal. This is the perfect book for a new year and people wanting a clean slate. I'll definitely be going back and rereading starting January 1st so I can try to complete the daily goals. Love love love.
review 2: I love Demi Lovato a whole heck of a lot. My rating for this book isn't so much based on the content or what I feel may have been a marketing ploy to re... morecover her reputation, but mostly on the lack of originality of the book. Instead of telling her story, Lovato chose to give advice to readers for 365. This is actually a cool idea, as a lot of her fans are girls in middle and high school who can always benefit from the advice of someone older (whom they will actually listen to).But what about her older fans? I don't go out searching for self-help books, so maybe a lot of them try to drive the same points home over and over again, but Lovato felt very repetitive. There were also traces of her story followed by a sense of pride that she had come through her struggles. This is awesome, and once again shows the light at the end of the tunnel for younger fans, but can also seem too proud. All in all, I think 365 topics/days was a bit too much for Lovaot to attempt to cover, and it shows. less
