review 1: I cannot believe that this book has so many positive reviews. I thought it was completely unoriginal and literally had to force myself to finish it! Aren't people tired of the "oh, I just met you yesterday, haven't really talked to you at all, and know nothing about you, but am madly in love with you" thing yet? I found the conversations to be cheesy and bland, the characters had no depth, and the whole him feeling terrible pain when he gets near to her, but it's worth it thing couldn't be more obviously stolen from Twilight. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone above the age of 13.
review 2: I would give this book more of 3.5 stars -- 1st half 3 stars and the last half 4 stars. I really enjoyed reading it, but if I had to put it down I didn't have the ove... morerwhelming urge to pick it back up. Cons: The book was translated into English and I think some of the dialog may have suffered during the translation. It just seemed a little cut and dry at times. And to be honest I wasn't really convinced of them falling in love -- a little disconnect there.Pros: The curse -- it was a little slow to unravel but it was interesting to see how it all played out. It wasn't clear how they could continue living with this curse and if/how it could be broken. I also enjoyed the historical nature of the book. All in all I would say by creativity alone you should give this book a try. I am definitely going to read the next book in the series. less
