review 1: This incredible true story details the life of a small Australian cattle dog, a blue heeler, named Sophie. Sophie is not your typical heeler; she loves "her people" and would be considered the ultimate Velcro dog! She is content to be wherever her people are, doing whatever they are doing. Calm, nurturing, and quiet, Sophie enjoys life as a very pampered house dog. One day, however, her life changes dramatically as he falls overboard during choppy seas off the coast of Australia. What follows is an unbelievable story of heartbreak, survival, loyalty, hope, and reunion for Sophie and her people. A definite must read for dog lovers everywhere!
review 2: Sophie: strong swimmer, stubborn smart survivor! Love those hardy cattle breed stock, truly loyal & fea
... morerless. I'm not gonna lie, I did shed a tear at the joyful owner/dog reunion five months after she went overboard in the middle of the big wide sea. Truly incredible & that picture of her running home with Dad barely hanging on to the leash was hilarious. The first half of the book was more about the family dynamic & home situation rather than Sophie's ordeal, which makes sense since no one can truly know & only guess at what hardships & incredible strength of will she had to endure. Who knew a dog could live off a diet of island goats? less

Definitely a feel-good read. Might have been better as a feel-good article, than a full-length book.
