review 1: 3.5*A sweet friends to lovers story, that despite it's relative shortness convinced me that they really did love each other.Even if it wasn't shown, I got a feel for all the years they traveled and lived together on the rodeo circuit and how the attraction had been simmering.Eli was dumped by his fiancée which isn't the real tragedy, she emptied out his bank account and stopped making payments on his land. This turn of events makes the 'more' between him and Vinn possible. I would have liked some kind of resolution of there was one as to recompense from the fiancée and I would have liked a look into the future of how they made their dream a reality. I liked it and it was hot and sweet and short.
review 2: Cowboy Crush is sensual erotica with a good dose of ro... moremance. This will definitely appeal to those m/m fans that want some hot sex between cowboys and a happy ending. There’s not much more to the story and it’s mostly sex scenes but the author knows how to build tension and sensual thrill. This is an easy, steamy, enjoyable quick bite that will satisfy that cowboy craving we all have.Eli and Vinn are best friends and fellow cowboys. On the road together working the rodeo, the two have been through a lot. Eli’s been with his girl back home forever, sending her his winnings in hopes of building a life after rodeo. When a break up letter comes – complete with empty bank account and no land – Eli turns to his best friend and quiet crush Vinn. The two explore their mutual feelings but are wary of a future together.The two characters begin as best friends so they have an established relationship. The quick novella doesn’t spend any additional time building their connection and offering more in depth explanations of why they’re together. Using that existing relationship, the majority of the story is spent on sex between the two men and why combined with a good friendship, these two end up together. The sex scenes fill the story with one after another and teasing in between. Eli takes to gay sex like a duck to water and Vinn is only too happy to help. The sexual tension is well crafted and makes this quick, fun erotica.The author clearly knows how to write sex and the steamy sensuality will definitely appeal to fans. I wish there had been more to the story as the only real fight they have is resolved quickly. With the focus so solidly on sex the rodeo background falls away quickly as well. It’s a prop, and well used one to throw the two men together but never materializes as a meaningful setting. There is so much rife possibility in the rodeo world and cowboys yearning for roots but this isn’t explored and the story stays with the two men and their burgeoning relationship.Even so the warmth and charm of the quick novella will satisfy anyone’s cowboy cravings. The men are rough but have moments of tenderness. There is a masculine feel combined with hot sex and deep emotion that’s almost effortless but never taken for granted. Anyone looking for a friends to lovers theme and likes cowboys will enjoy this one. less
