review 1: Overall, an interesting book based on an even more interesting premise: The Knowledge of Good and Evil can be obtained by humankind and will render all religion obsolete. However, the author seemed to think it was necessary to have large numbers of minor skirmishes in which the protagonist thwarts - yet again - the attempts of the Ordo Arma Christi to stop him. It would have been a better device to have three (not multiples) strategic battles in which the protagonist gets closer to his goal. Tedious, I guess, is the best summary of much of the book.
review 2: This author demonstrates Cliff Notes understanding of Dante and a very limited ability to write in a silly thriller that seems to desperately attempt to be profound. It's sad. A writer of limited talen
... moret, if any, litters this novel with comic book dialogue and characters of Saturday movie serials superficiality. Many writers are trying to be the next Dan Brown and this one's effort is terrible. The plot hardly makes sense and the entire mess is hopeless. Even at remainder table prices, it isn't worth the money. More importantly, it isn't worth the energy it takes to turn the seemingly endless pages of this dull dud of pretentious nonsense. less

I first became a Kleier fan after his epic book The Last Day. That was a high bar, but Kleier soars over it with this amazing story. It tells the tale of a man who lost his parents in a tragic accident when he was a boy, seeing them give their lives to save his. Overcome with greif and maybe not entirely rational, he takes a wild course to prove the existence of an afterlife, determined to know if he'll ever see his beloved parents again. The path he takes and the bizarre, mad, sometines terrifying twists of this story keeps you on edge. You literally don't know the outcome until the very end. I never read a book quite like this and I urge anyone with a love of gripping suspense and action to pick this one up. As promised, you will come away with the knoweldge of good and evil. Five stars.
