review 1: This is my first time with a book by this author. We listened to an audio version while traveling. I really admire the author for writing this book in his 90's. He is an inspiring man. However,I did not like the flow of the book. He went back and forth through time periods and often repeated himself, with the same stories. Also, some facts were incorrect. Like where Robert Kennedy died. That made me wonder about the truthfulness of other parts of the books.
review 2: Kind of a sweet memoir of a nonagenarian reflecting back on the years of his very happy marriage, later coping as a widower, and having his life-long dream of being published come true in his mid-90s. While the book is okay, it is nowhere near as powerful as his first book, The Invisible Wall.
... more It is a little funny how he repeats himself sometimes, as you might expect an older person to do, but I'm surprised the editors didn't catch more of that. Maybe the most significant incident in the book is when he tells of his experience attending a Paul Robeson/Pete Seeger concert in 1949 at Peekskill and the riot that followed. Otherwise, I have to admit I wasn't substantially moved by this story. less

Not as captivating as the first 2, but a fitting end to his story.

Gran libro, anche se il migliore resta sempre The invisible Wall.

The third in a trilogy, and not nearly as good as the first two.
