review 1: I just absolutely loved this! Many humourous moments and sweet romance :) Mizuki Ashiya travels from America to Japan to attend the same high school as her athletic idol Izumi Sano. However, since it's a boy school, she decides to dress as one so she could be closer to him. Izumi's friend Nakatsu has feelings for Ashiya and is unaware that "he" is actually she, and his inner conflict about whether he's gay or not is portrayed in a comedic way. Sano quit the high jump for a time because firstly he had an injury to protect a female friend of his, and then he lost his confidence. Mizuki supports and encourages him to jump again. I'm looking forward to reading more volumes in Hana-Kimi.
review 2: I've been an anime fan for about fifteen years and too be honest neve... morer really gave manga any thought. I was recommended this by a good friend and I thought I would just read it for fun. I never thought I would be instantly hooked.From the very beginning you know this story is going to have a humorous side. I mean a girl going to such lengths to disguise herself as a boy to attend an all Japanese boys school! To be honest, I first thought I was going to be bored quickly with the story line the only reason she is going is to see one time all star Sano do the high jump again? Then what?As you go through this first installment you'll find that Mizuki has more to deal with in this school than keeping her identity under wraps. Perfect for a beginning manga reader! less
