review 1: A nicely written road book with a memoir hidden in along with a shout out to several independent bookstores. The author invites along several apparitional relatives to help him with the signposts. This could have easily become self-indulgent, but the author keeps it light and does not whack you over the head with his insights. Well worth the time. Ultimately, with this being the first book by Mosher I have read, I now have a desire to seek out the rest of his works.
review 2: 3 1/2 stars. I think it would have been a 4 had I read it in a shorter period of time. The chapters/stories are very brief and I didn't string them closely enough together in time to give them the momentum they deserved. I did this for the last 50 pages and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good
... more writer. Wry humor. I would love to have been a passenger in the Loser Cruiser and a participant at one of his readings. I appreciate his passion for the independent book store! less

Howard Mosher never disappoints me, this novel is as funny and poignant as the others I have read.

May add Howard Frank Mosher to my "authors to follow" list -- some really great quotes in here!

All I can say is that Howard Frank Mosher is the best storyteller out there. Period.

I love travel writing but this was a total snooze. So boring.
