review 1: This is a very inspirational book. Everyone should read it just to grasp what is going on in Gaza. I read in a week when the fighting is getting worse and worse and a UN school was attacked (July 2014). This man is truly amazing for telling the world what's going on, what's gone on and his hopes and aspirations for the future. I had the pleasure of meeting him when he came to give a talk at a university near me in the Middle East. He was a very remarkable man.
review 2: My sister recommended I read this book when I expressed frustration over the most recent renewed conflict between Israel and Palestine. This is a very personal account of a Gaza doctor's efforts to bridge the gap between Israelis and Palestinians by working to care for patients in both countrie
... mores. It is an eloquently told story of this remarkable's doctor's recognition that violence is not the answer. Despite his own incredible loss, he is still working to find better ways to resolve the conflict. He is now focussing his efforts on raising funds and awareness for girls education through his organization, Daughters for Life. A truly moving book! less
