review 1: Traveling back to Colorado with Sarah and Henry made me want to take a trip to Colorado. The imagery that the author shares with us has awakened my memories as a child travling to Colorado with my parents to visit relatives. The single most impressive thing was the train ride to Silverton, Colorado and the majestic mountains and trees that made me gape in awe. I remember the smell of them, the greenery (living in the desert makes you appreciate all the colors of green so much more), to the feel of the soot in my hair from the coal driven train. All of this came alive again for me with the journey back to Colorado written by Ms. Rye. Thank you for that.Memories. The single most important thing that I would never want to lose. Things are just that...things. But memories? You... more can never replace them, yes, you might lose some of them as you get older & wiser or replace them with different ones, but you will always have them. Sarah. William. Adley. A heart cannot forget that it's been in love, that it has been crushed, that it has lost, that it is missing something. Will hearts that remember each other help or hurt further? I made myself wait overnight to write the review. This story is resonating so loudly in my heart that to write it directly after finishing it would give it no justice, nor any to the author.
review 2: Anyone else think Fate can be very cruel? This is book 2 of a 3 part series and picks up right where book 1, Surrender to Fate, leaves off. I was so overwhelmed by the emotions and heart wrenching decisions by both Will and Sarah from the very beginning of this story. I know people say all the time what a roller coaster a book is, but that wouldn't even begin to describe the ups and downs and twists and turns Jacelyn Rye gives us in this book. I went from loving Will to hating him back to loving him. And Sarah is torn in many directions, not knowing which way is up and through every passage of her thoughts and feelings you literally feel your heart breaking for her. And Margaret, oh why does such an awful person have to exist? I just thought I hated her in the first book, well I really hate her now. I understand Will's torn between what he feels in his soul that is right and listening to his heart or doing what in his mind is the right thing for his family. It is just so frustrating to know that two people who love each other so much down to their very core, can not be together. And then you have Adley, who is in the war fighting everyday to get back to Sarah. I mean, my goodness who do you root for, right? One thing I know for certain is that Sarah and Will will always belong to each other no matter what promises they have made to others. They made promises to each other first. This story touched me to my core and one I will not ever forget! People always have those books that in 10 years or 20 years they will always come back to and talk about, this series is mine. I really can't say enough about this series! It is one I will recommend to anyone and everyone!! I wish I could give it a million stars because it deserves no less than that!! Great job Jacelyn!! Grab a box of tissues because you will need them!! Review by Tabitha less
