review 1: I found this book at Hastings. The cover drew me in and made me curious so I read the back of the book and wanted to find out more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it opened my eyes and helped me walk in another person's shoes for awhile. The book explains the life of a boy who has Tourette's Syndrome coupled with OCD, Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, and he has to experiment with a variety of meds to find his equilibrium. The story discusses his trials and tribulations as he rides on the Tourettes/ OCD roller coaster way of life. I found it a touching and thought provoking story. I felt for the main character because so many people poke fun at Tourette's when they have no knowledge of how the person is affected who has the disorder. I recommend everybody read this ... morebook!
review 2: Dear friend, I'm reading a book entitled " Med Head" by James Patterson which is a work of a biography. This book is about a young boy who is struggling from alcoholism and struggles to solve his problems. In the book James and Hal finds the one thing that help solve and blur out his problems(alcohol). Now this self-medication is a life-threatening thing that makes him do things he isn't supposed to and can't be fixed by himself. "The main reason why i'm here is more immediate. I finally found the one thing that brings me peace-- Alcohol." One question I have for Hal& James is why did you let alcohol take over your body without going to a therapist or a counselor. Three new things I learned is that the 17 year old boy can get a surplus amount of help if he actually wanted it. He tries to stop but at night he sneaks many bottles and drinks them. Lastly, his parents tried to puts him in a Dressler Psychiatric Hospital to try and help him, but later after discovering the hospital they decided they aren't ready to send him there. Something this book makes me think about in life is the problems and the struggles people actually have in their lives and how it's hard to overcome it. This book made me realize that alcohol can play a roll in someone's life for the wrong reason's, because Hal and James struggled with it although it was good and tasty it was bad for there health. If I were Hal or James I would be terrified because with all the problems they've been facing so far they can die from , or result in a hospitalized situation. An important lesson I learned is that do not become an alcoholic it can affect in severe things.I'd recommend this book to people who are struggling from bad addictions because they can see the risk and the pros and cons of their addiction. Sincerely, Kaylen less
