review 1: Matt is a wolf shifter without a mate, that can be a lonely life. It can also be a dangerous life since depressed shifters tend to have short lives. He meets Jen and knows that she is the one, he just has to tell her about himself and hope that she can accept him. You learn a lot about shifters and how they mate. I enjoyed the length of this book, it was a quick read before bed. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!
review 2: I enjoyed this book. It was a good starter novel in a series and supplied all the necessary setting and plot details without it being obvious that's what the author is doing. Jenn is an insecure human, and when Matt meets her under awkward circumstances it makes it difficult for them to get together. It was understandable t
... morehat Jenn would question Matt's sincerity because the situation played on all of her insecurities. However, between Matt's persistence and Jen gaining perspective they did manage to work it out. This definitely falls more in the gentle shifter romance novel series. It seems like shifter novels generally fall into two categories: gentle romance with the main complications being emotional or violent romance where there are emotional and external forces keeping the couple apart. I think readers who enjoy Zenina Masters' Shifting Crossroads series. less
