review 1: This is a really good book. Its a conversation (literally) between Jeff Bridges and Bernie Glassman.The Zen philosophy is presented in very down to earth, practical terms that are easy to understand. I really liked the personal anecdotes they each bring to illustrate the benefits and difficulties of practicing Zen. I have a feeling that "Row, row, row your boat" will become a new mantra for me :)
review 2: This was a great book and a real departure from what I usually read. The entire book is a conversation between Jeff Bridges and a close friend of his - Bernie Glassman, a Zen Master in his own right. There's tons of interesting tidbits gained from reading this book and it certainly opened new perspectives for me on Zen, Buddhism and different ways of thinki... moreng about going thru and managing life. I don't normally trend towards these kinds of books but it came highly recommended from a close friend - whom I bought it for - and he let me borrow it. BOTTOM LINE: it's a really good book - READ IT!! less
