review 1: I agree with the reviewer who said that they enjoyed the novel but that it left them feeling empty. I appreciate the mood created for the underwater environment - it is such a unique, other wordly feeling to be that far down. However, I think felt that the symbolism was very surface-level, it is about a man who can't let go of his father's death. He is stuck in the past, and can't move on. Overall, I recommend as it isn't too time consuming to read and has a good story.
