review 1: I was a bit disappointed by this book. While it was well-written, interesting, and informative, I'm not sure that I really understand Jen's journey. While she went through a lot of misery right after the surgery, several months later she seemed to be back to many of her old eating habits. I was expecting that she'd make a heartfelt change, but rather it (at least seemed) that she's simply happier that's she's smaller (understandable that she feels that way...I was just expecting more). She seemed to be much more honest with her readers than with the real people in her real life, which just made me feel a bit sad. I hope that Jen had more of an inside transformation that she showed in her writing. It WAS an interesting read and well written; I just was just hoping for a bit... more more self-discovery.
review 2: This is a great book for anyone thinking about getting weight loss surgery or who struggles with their weight. Very funny but very honest and open and tells you things that not everyone else would about the aftermath emotionally and physically but without encouraging or discouraging anyone, just a tell it like it is story about one women's journey with herself her body issues and her weight loss surgery. less
