review 1: In Curves and the Sheriff we meet Libby Grant who is moving to Coldwater Springs to start a new job in the library. Before she even gets to town, she is pulled over by the sheriff, Jake Morgan. He tells her that a car of her type is wanted because the owner is an experienced con-woman and thief. After checking her licence, he finds she is not the person the police are looking for and lets her go. Somehow, even thinking the worst of each other, there is attraction between them. They meet again later, and sparks - very quickly - fly.I liked the characters of Libby Grant and Jake Morgan but at first I thought Jake was a jerk. This was a cute little novelette which didn't take long to read at all. I noticed that there was a lot of repeating of scenes and dialogue from Coldwa... moreter Springs 1 which made me lose interest in this story.
review 2: I really enjoyed this, partly because of the humour in it. My favourite scene had to be the comedy in the library, when the know it all Sheriff can’t operate the checking out machine. It’s all well written, though, which is my number one requirement in any read.Curvy Libby Grant is moving to Coldwater Springs to join her cousin Sarah and to take up a new job in the library. Her life doesn’t seem set to be very exciting, but when the local sheriff Jake Morgan pulls her over, accusing her of being an experienced con woman and thief, things change.I liked the opposing characterisation in this: Libby of the curves, reasonable, humorous, self-doubting, and her opposite number, the arrogant, lean and hard Jake, a bit too full of himself, who needs, as he admits, ‘Someone to keep me n my toes’.' less
