review 1: An awesome fun read! Ever have a great fun night at a bar while people tell great stories? Reading this book was like having that experience. The energy and passion that comes through is infectious- Weintraub and Cohen make a great story-telling team. Weintraub’s life exemplifies the “you don’t ask, you don’t get” philosophy. This book earns five stars because I shed a few real tears during the chapter about his parent’s passing. That said I didn’t believe for one minute he was telling you the whole truth about his life- especially about his drug use and marriages. However, it didn’t get in my way of enjoying the book and learning a few things.
review 2: Jerry Weintraub was/is a Hollywood producer, deal maker and all around impresario. If you li
... moreke a book about the behind the scenes stories of the world of entertainment. I should note very funny and entertaining stories about the following people... Elvis Presley, Colonel Tom Parker (Elvis's manager), Sinatra and the infamous Rat Pack, George Clooney, Bruce Willis, George Bush (41), Armand Hammer, John Denver, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, John Denver and Bobby Fischer just to name a few! If any of the previous names interest you, then this is the book to read! Mr. Weintraub is far from a wallflower this is a man who made things happen and did it with chutzpah and lot's of humor. Again, a very entertaining book! less
