review 1: Good series to recommend for those who prefer no violence or swearing. While not as heart-quickening or well written as Dorothy Gilman's Mrs. Pollifax series, I did enjoy the larky Miss Zukas' feisty directness. From book: In Farewell, Miss Zukas, the twelfth and concluding Miss Zukas mystery, the chief finally pops the question to Miss Helma Zukas, librarian par excellence. But before Bellehaven, Washington can rejoice, Helma's mother and Aunt Em are robbed and the alleged robber lies dead - or does he? ... moreve a break-in at the Senior Residence where Helma's mother & aunt lives. Also, wedding bells will finally ring for Helma and her Police Chief, but will she get to plan her own wedding or bend to the will of her Lithuanian family? And what of Boy Cat Zukas? I enjoyed Helma, her Bellehaven library, and her world. less
