review 1: As with the rest of Keats, wonderful energy and intensity with a hint of madness. The letters form, at once, both an epistolary novella that is quite vivid, and fluid prose poetry. I give it 4 rather than 5 stars because of the occasional crazy stuff he says in here, for example the most famous line, "I have two luxuries to brood over...your Loveliness and the hour of my death." He wishes to enjoy them both at once. People think that this is romantic--and it partly is--but it's also lunacy, as is his desire that she be unhappy, because, if she were happy, then she clearly wouldn't be in love. This sort of madness is fine as a humorous conceit for a love sonnet, but in an actual love letter (presumably without the intention of publication), it's odd.
review 2: A
... more collection of letters to Fanny by John Keats, made into a little book. I love that the offer gave a little background information in the beginning, and included Keat's poems at the end. Really liked it. I loved the movie version of Bright Star, the actors really really brought the love story to life.Would have loved a novel written not just the letters. I think the author could have done a bit more. Just saying, anyone could have did what was done.My opi. less

I really enjoyed the movie Bight Star, so I hope the book of poems is just as good.
