review 1: Like many other reviewers, I had a hard time continuing to read at first because of the depressing violence, and then the whole "daddy" thing- but I am glad I stuck with it. The second half of the book was great and I really liked the way it ended. (At the beginning i would have had a hard time imagining anything good coming out of any of it...but it does! Stick with it!)The biggest beef I have with the book is the title- why not just call it Mia's Journey? This book is a thriller, yes- maybe even a psychological thriller, or at times action thriller, suspense/thriller.... but not "erotic" thriller. The scenes with Mia and "daddy" just were not erotic to me. Maybe they could've been if she wasn't calling him daddy EVERY OTHER word...it was just so overused and made me kin... mored of just skip through a lot of these scenes. And I like erotica- but this was not erotic. Anyway, besides that, I did really enjoy the book. Just be aware there are some really rough scenes of violence, and if you are looking for erotica....look elsewhere. But if you are interested in a compelling thriller, the satisfaction of revenge against evil douchebags....look no further!
review 2: In the beginning I was uh? I thought Mia had changed so drastically so fast after meeting "Daddy" I almost gave up on it.....almost... so glad I continued. Intense, since I had a day off I had the opportunity to keep on reading. I had to find out how Mia's story ended. She went thru hell, did'nt know any better. Then she meets Daddy and this is where her life changes, she finally knows love and she gives all of it to her Daddy. He loves her too and will protect her from her sick husband and father-in law. Man what he does for her to be safe and stay safe. He tried to warn them...but they did not listen. There are some disturbing scene's of Mia being abused(not so graphically showed)but told. Also some sex scene between Daddy and her. All in all I enjoyed this book, it has a love story, danger I think even men would enjoy this :) less

This was a tough book to read. The language was hard and gritty, the violence was disheartening.

This one was conflicting for me... it seemed more provocative then story telling...
