review 1: A touching story with a sad end. It pictures how racial discrimination ruins a family. The climax was fitting,that's exactly what should've happened to that man. From the side of Desiree,it is really sad though. She was brought up as an adopted child,not even knowing her real parents, and the pain of loneliness somewhere deep inside. Now she is left alone again. A story with many shades. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
