review 1: It was a little slow in the beginning. But it gripped when the author started talking about the months and days before the internment camp and then the years that were spent in the camp. Poston Camp was where my family was sent. I was thankful for her account of the years spent there. My mother still to this day will not speak of her time there. My dad, like Kiyo's brother joined the army and was part of the 442nd and was sent to France and Italy.
