review 1: I got this book and the next 2 volumes for it as a birthday gift and it has been sitting on my shelf for almost 2 years now. I decided to give it a go and finished it in one day. I found this book really cute and girly from the start. That didn't bother me. What did was that it was read left to right. Yes, I have read many Mangas where it had to be read that way, and b/c of that, I can't enjoy mangas as I do regular books .This one was no different. Instead of doing a manga about one whole story, there were alot if mini stories . Choco and Mimi were really cute characters, and I liked the romance between Choco and Andrew/Ando I loved the drawings and the 'fashion' advice and extras that were in this book. This book was neither good or bad for me, but it could get confus... moreing, so...3/5 :)
review 2: Everyone needs a good laugh right about now. There's a war going on, the Dodgers are in first place in the NL West, and the economy just keeps getting worse. But now you can brighten your day with Choco Mimi! The titular characters are daring, feisty eighth-graders who put their own twist on the school uniform and love animals. Choco is the more normal of the two, and she likes wearing baseball caps and studying. Mimi is more than kinda out there, and is always thinking of creative and hilarious ways to look at the glass as half-full, especially when she's failing a class. She just loves frills...And of course, there's a supporting cast, too. Mr. Take, the teacher who just despairs at Mimi's intelligence and lack of self-control might have an aneurysm one of these days. The new transfer students, Andrew and Mumu, round out Choco and Mimi's little group. And of course, they hve their pets: Mimi's samurai dog, Chiffon; Choco's fluffy kitty, Huckleberry; and Andrew's little bird, Picho. These are very easy to understand, and very hilarious in a sweet, juvenile way. Just don't expect great literature (remember: It's a comic book). less
