review 1: I first heard of this story because of its adaptation into a film. To be honest, I didn't know it was a manga until I found this information on the internet.Then which one would be my first try, the film or the manga? The original or an adaptation?I decided to go with the manga and don't regret it at all.The story is touching, and though the characters are sometimes annoying or too naïve for my liking I only wished them luck. I was in a hurry to know what would happen next, what would be their reactions, what, finally, would their future look like. The story is all about a promise, a sweet one, made when the main characters were only eight. At first you could say this is a naïve and innocent one, but I disagree. This is a beautiful one because it isn't void of feeling an... mored honesty, it isn't void of love, the true one.It's certain that if you don't like romance you shouldn't read this manga. And if you don't like drama it gives you two reasons not to read it. On the contrary, if you're looking for a sweet romance in which all isn't as simple as in a dream, then this manga would be - not perfect, but almost. (I must add that after having finished this series I haven't watched the film any more, and probably won't watch it, because the manga has left me a very good memory, I don't want it to be ruined by a possible-disappointing adaptation.)
review 2: Aoki-sensei's art is not to my best liking, but I love the way she writes down the thoughs of the characters, the feelings she inflicts them.As always very strong feelings in this manga too.I'm sooo glad I've already watched the film, the only aspect, that made me start this manga. I just hope I won't take this as bad as I did th movie (though it became one of my favourites).I'm on the 2nd one... less
