review 1: A ghost story that goes between the past and the present in New Orleans. A romantic story that includes voodoo, ghosts, evil spirits, revenge and vampires. When Lottie’s dreams of Elise and Laurent start melding with reality, she is lead to the The Villere House of Voodoo and its current owner, Xavier Villere.This is an old school ghost story that is well written and entertaining with just the right amount of creepy.
review 2: This book definitely worked voodoo magic on me! I've been shying away from anything paranormal for a while now (I think I overdosed on vampires) but I loved this book! I found myself fascinated with the voodoo and haunting aspects of Villere House since they're so different from anything I've read before. I loved mostly all of the chara... morecters (Sam needs a good hard kick in the backside), especially Xavier and his romance with Lottie, and of course his Grandmere. As with all books I read, the edit is important to me. Villere House is not without flaws, but there was nothing overly distracting. I will definitely read the follow-up book when it is released. less
