review 1: bafflingly badly written, especially in the first half. I "bafflingly" because the last quarter of the book as well as author's post scriptum are so much better that it's almost as if they were written by another person.I understand that setting a scene so you could write about what you know well and comfortable talking about could be hard, but that level of clunkiness is too much of a contrast. I probably wouldn't have gotten to that last part if it wasn't a rec.On another topic, I was hugely relieved when I realized the meaning of the title.
review 2: One of the best warewolf books I've ever read! The author created a fascinating world of fantasy based in realism, while setting boundaries for what was possible and craftily staying in those limits. The relatio... morenship between Laura and Roy was my favorite kind of romance; two people trying to fight their inner demons to strengthen themselves, as well as for love and loyalty. I'm so excited to have come across this book, and look forward to continuing this series with reading DJ's story. less
