review 1: bafflingly badly written, especially in the first half. I "bafflingly" because the last quarter of the book as well as author's post scriptum are so much better that it's almost as if they were written by another person.I understand that setting a scene so you could write about what you know well and comfortable talking about could be hard, but that level of clunkiness is too much of a contrast. I probably wouldn't have gotten to that last part if it wasn't a rec.On another topic, I was hugely relieved when I realized the meaning of the title.
