review 1: 3 Stars: interesting characters, a decent storyline, and unique story elements. the sort of book that you enjoy while you're reading it, but when you compare it to others, it's not amazing. Or if it forms part of a series which you like, you may as well read it, but don't expect the world.There are plenty of better books out there, but a Three Star book isn't a complete waste of your reading time.
review 2: DNF after reading the first 5 chapters. I was totally confused. I hadn't read books 1 or 2 and didn't know that you kind of needed to read them in order to understand what's going on in this one. Nothing was explained about the previous books, and there weren't any warnings that you needed to read them to understand this one. The first chapter, and the H/h h... moread already met. And there was all this talk about how Marissa was an awful person, but I didn't know why. I bought this book as a hardcopy. And I'm used to being able to pick up a book in a series, and it be a standalone with background information; while this one was not. After reading the reviews and spoilers I realized that this book is not my cup of tea, especially from what little I read, and that Nash is a jerk. less
