review 1: This is a true crime story about a mortician (of all things) who murdered his wife for several reasons: he had been a serial adulterer, and was afraid his wife was going to find out about his most recent affair; his mistress was pregnant (she was also married), and he had promised to marry her). This man, Michael Rosemore, is one of the worst narcissists I have ever read about, and instead of divorcing his wife of 19 years, he decides to brutally murder her. It can't get much worse than that. This case took place in Pennsylvania, in Lancaster County, where a lot of Amish and Mennonite people live, which makes it all the more surreal in my opinion. The author did a good job of getting into the heads of the family members, principals, and also the law enforcement person... morenel involved in the case. I have just one word to sum this book up: unbelievable........
review 2: Such a sad true story of a man who is self centered and wanting everything for himself to include money, children, and multiple women that he murdered the young woman who was a devoted wife of 19 years, and mother to his 4 children. So much salacious action on his part and his "lovers" part that I am still left feeling perhaps on SOME level the woman he had an affair and child with (while married and after his wife's death) possibly DID know more than she let on, but without the burden of proof one can only make that assumption not state emphatically so. As always I will research more on this case simply because I always like to know as much as I can about the person/s I read about. less
