review 1: Contemporary marriage romance where Cassie Eden walked out of her marriage a month ago when she found out that her husband of less then a year had been lying about his job, family and life. So Stephen Sands is the CEO of some big company and has had a string of terrible superficial relationships until he is mistaken for a poor artist and falls in love with the caterer and owner of Just Desserts who is making up the cake for his father's wedding. But skip to the present and Cassie needs help that only her husband can help with to fund the special school that her beloved Autistic niece needs to have a good life. So Stephen Sands gets to try for revenge in the guise of making Cassie come back into his life 'for real' this time and making their marriage public to their familie... mores as well as the city. But of course the living together brings them back together and the usual falling back in love ensues. Cute second chances short story with HEA guaranteed.164 pages and kindle freebie2 stars
review 2: Considering this book's title is a jumble of cliches, and the story boasted a good number too (millionaire hero, fake marriage, woman who will do anything to help out her suffering family), it's somewhat ridiculous how much I loved reading the story. 'The Texas Millionaire's Runaway Wife' is one of those stories that breathes new life into old romance tropes. Cassie and Stephen are believable people, with both flaws and lovable features that are just a little larger than life. Cassie is impetuous, bossy and has a slight vicious streak, yet this is balanced by her deep capacity for love and kindness, as well as the natural beauty which Stephen falls unexpectedly in love with. Stephen is in many ways your classic millionaire alpha male - domineering, controlling and possessive - but he has a sweet streak too (generous, funny and good with children). It was easy to accept Stephen and Cassie's crazy relationship because of the kind of people they both are, yet as time went on I was desperate to see how they would move from frustration and distance to the love they were clearly destined to find. If you're feeling a little jaded - either with life or with the romance genre - this is a fantastically refreshing read. less

Drama made from people not talking to each other is boring and a cop out to good writing.
