review 1: I wanted too like this book, but I was left disappointed in both the writing style and the tone of the book. I looked forward to getting an idea of a family member's perspective of this historical election, but sadly this book reads more like a sorority girl getting back at those who didn't treat her well. All of the petty grievances she has such as not wanting to wear a pin that would identify her as family because they should learn her face. Her sense of entitlement is annoying and she seems to not really realize that she is her own worst enemy. She had a front row seat to history and rather than seeing that as a great opportunity, she chose to act like a child. I expected more. However, I applaud her for writing the book but I wish that we new less of her clothin... moreg and more of what she actually learned. The final pages tell us, but sadly, we were not shown this throughout the book. One thing I found unfair is thee criticism she gives to Barbara and Jenna Bush-they sounded perfectly gracious and she should have been more respectful. Megan seems to think that it is all about her rather than that everyone was stressed out and dealing with issues a lot deeper than the overly sensitive feelings of an adult who persists in acting like a child.
review 2: Do not read this book. I had to read it for a class and honestly got headaches from it. This girl is like 25 years old and still uses words like "jammies" as part of her supposed "serious" book. It tells you nothing about actual politics and more about what it would be like if you were the spoiled daughter of a rich politician who got to ride along on her daddy's campaign and piss everyone off with her lack of knowledge about literally everything. She talks about how for her first White House dinner she did her hair in cornrolls and then was embarrassed that people "looked down" on her. This book is literally just her whining about how her life is so unfair because nobody takes her seriously and then her giving you great examples of why that is. less
