review 1: I liked the raw honesty of this book. Ms. Brzezinski addresses the difficulties of women in business...how we have to work harder while being less appreciated, lower wages, and how looks matter. While it is encouraging to know that I am not alone, it is simultaneously discouraging to learn of other women receiving the same discriminatory treatment in the workplace, especially after all these years of the feminist movement and women's rights. One lesson this book has reiterated for me is that I have to be strong for myself as a career woman and in obtaining my goals!
review 2: I read this (not the audio version as titled here). Easy read, interesting; didn't learn enough to give it beyond three stars. I suppose it was nice to learn that heavy hitting females hav
... moree had challenges getting paid what they deserve, but I would have liked to have heard from someone in middle management like me. Also, perhaps I'm seriously jaded or have just been through the wringer, but thinking this book is probably more valuable to a younger woman (or someone with less experience) than me.Interesting note: she interviews Donald Trump and Jack Welch, two really successful men who I think are total jerks. They definitely showed off the jerk in her interviews with them. less
