review 1: I didn't really get what I wanted out of this book. Another case of misleading book blurb. The blurb says they talked all night about what was important in their lives and what they would do differently and how, for the survivor, it impacted the way he lives now. There is about one paragraph in the whole book about that, for the most part it just documents how not to try to remove an anchor that is stuck, what happens when you're lost at sea, and how 3 young men died very tragically. It was an upsetting and sort of confusing to read. It felt more like something the author did to cathartically deal with his experience. It needed a better editor.
review 2: This was my first experience reading a non fiction book, I thought it was well written and i could act... moreually close my eyes and picture me there and everything going on. Truly a heart felt sorrowful book. But realizing the friendships and feelings between the friends. I really think this is a must read. It is a very sad book. I liked that there were pictures to see the real people and their story. less
