review 1: I received this book from Oliver Markus and “Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock” in exchange for an honest review. This is supposed to be an autobiography about Oliver’s life over a span of about 30 years. The book does start off that way with background information about his hacking abilities and his failed marriage with, Donna, the abusive, control freak. However, several hundred pages of this very long book is really a documentary about all kinds of girls that trick and do drugs. If a book could be ADD, this is definitely the one that would be used as a classic example to diagnose others. It jumped from story to story to another story that was in the middle of telling another story. There were times I had no idea who or what he was talking about. There were s... moreo many different women that they all began to run together. The book was very well written, raw, witty, and completely honest. I do respect Oliver for being true in all aspects, even when it made him look like a complete basket case. While this isn’t my cup of tea, I did enjoy digging deeper into the addict’s world. I found it completely engrossing the lengths they would go through to get that next high. Oliver wrote this book in such a way that it felt as though we were just sitting next to each other while he was telling me a story. While I do respect him as a writer and his ability to capture my attention, I hated him as a person in this book. I mean, who tries to have a child with a drug addict that has hepatitis C (and who knows what else) on PURPOSE?I am not surprised at all that I read the whole thing, because despite the context of the book being misleading, the stories were very interesting. I found myself being lost in the world of a drug addict and how they lie, cheat, and steal to get the next high. It really was fascinating to see how manipulative they were towards Oliver in particular. It was also fascinating to have bits of research information throughout the book. I feel like I learned a lot through his journey, and I also learned what not to do.Oliver constantly fell for their schemes, and he repeatedly took them back because he “loved” them. He took them on vacations, dates, and even bought their drugs for them. Throughout the book Oliver repeatedly brags about having unprotected sex with the girls who have sex with anything that walks. The only thing I felt during this book was sorry for Oliver. He’s the 40 year old pervert that has the world at his fingertips and yet he chooses ill people to enable, abuse, and take revenge on. For someone who was so smart when it came to making millions, he was a complete idiot when it came to the endless number of women that he “fell in love” with. By the time this book was over, I was a so glad that it was. I was so sick and tired of reading how hurt, depressed, low, pissed, etc. he was over how much he got screwed over. All of these things happened because he allowed it to happen, over and over again.I would not recommend this to anyone that gets squeamish, or anyone who is sheltered. There is no filtering of language, or descriptions, so be warned. This is a strong 3.5 fangs for me. I would have rated this book higher, but there were a few things that just didn’t work for me. For instance, the ending was very abrupt and there was hardly any type of resolution that would indicate why the book was written in the first place. Secondly, there were hundreds of pages worth of stories about all kinds of women, but they were all pretty much the same. He met a hooker that was a drug addict. He fell in love with her and wanted to save her. He would buy her drugs so she wouldn’t have to trick, but she’d would do it anyway and then lie about it. It would piss him off. He would take them back, and then the cycle would repeat over and over again until he found another druggie to do the same thing with.
review 2: I have to give Oliver some major props here... to many people, his story would be embarrassing or too hard to tell. Oliver Markus dives into his troubled past with no reservations. The main thread in this story is the relationships between people. Whatever else is happening in Oliver's life is secondary to these manipulative, addictive, tragic women. It's really a sad thing to read about people that really live like these girls. As someone who has only lived in nice suburbs, it is shocking to get inside the head of an addict. They are constantly looking for their next high no matter who the screw (literally and figuratively) in the process. They are no longer in control of their own lives. In a way, I see Oliver as an addict. He lets these women constantly cheat on him and choose their drugs over him, and yet he can't quit them. A psychiatrist might say that he is addicted to the feeling of being needed and okay with the pain that accompanies that. The very first chapter tells us not to be shocked by the crudeness with which this story must be told. It is a candid account of the world of prostitution and drugs. The language would make the most liberal among us I this country cringe and there is A LOT of sex. I had to get past my own sensibilities to realize how necessary all of that is. When the subject of religion was brought up, I almost quit reading because his view of the church is harsh. I kept reading though, because, in the end, this is an autobiographical story. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs and Oliver said this was a heavy read so I shouldn't have expected anything different. I think the story that gets lost a bit in here is Oliver's career. He makes enough money to coast through. Imagine if he had worked really hard at his internet site. He had so many possibilities that I was sad to see squandered. All in all, the writing is very good and Oliver seemed like a good guy who was dragged down by the type of women he fell for. His downfall was his ever present trust. less

I thought this edition might be better because it had a different title, but it wasn't.

This book is basically unreadable. He'd have really benefited from having an editor.
